Get Away to Lake George, New York

Family vacations are always a good time, and even better if you go somewhere as beautiful as Lake George, New York. Lake George is located in the northeastern part of New York in Warren County. In 2000, it had a population of only 2,500!

Not only does it have a peaceful, gorgeous lake, but it is surrounded by other attractions as well. Prospect Mountain, for example, provides some fantastic views. There are even cabins and housekeeping cottages in Lake George that you can stay in for a few days or even a few weeks!

There is a winery tasting room, the Fort William Henry, which has live actors. The million dollar beach is also a great place to just relax. And, if you’re adventurous, you can head over to Shelving Rock Falls.

There are tons of other things to do. You can take a boat tour on the lake, in either a small or large boat, go paragliding over the water, take a spin on the warren county Bikeway, or even check out the spooky House of Frankenstein Wax Museum  or take a vampire and ghost tour – if you dare!

Apart from the natural waters, you can go to Water Slide World with chlorinated pools, go horseback riding on the mountain trails, go golfing, or see the Olive Oil factory or Lake George Distilling Company.

If you like to fish, Lake George will be your paradise if you’re one to go out on boat, or even from the shore. And, as any good tourist town will have, there are spas and great hotels if you’re one that doesn’t want to try camping.

It’s a little town with a lot of history, a lot of fun, and a lot of things to see. So, what are you waiting for?
